Excellence, Cooperation, Diversity, Caring, and Commitment

TA’s core values underscore our mission and drive our work every day. By keeping these words close, we foster a positive learning environment for every student.

On this year’s Day of Giving, we invite you to show how much you value TA with a contribution.
Every gift makes a difference for our students.

When we asked students what they value about TA—what has inspired, challenged, or changed them in their time here— the answers were as unique as each student.

They reflect the diversity of opportunities and experiences students have at TA. They reflect the deep care and commitment of TA’s teachers, the availability of a helping hand in a supportive and cooperative environment. These students have forged their own paths toward excellence at TA–unique and reflective of their individual goals.

Zia Smith, Class of ’21

“When I was getting really interested in learning Chinese, my guidance counselor was really, really helpful and helped me plan out a Challenge Course in Chinese that fit into my schedule.”

Riley Burkins, Class of ’21

“At TA, I don’t think there’s anything that you’re doing alone. You’re always referring to other people, referring to something else on a bigger scale. You’re never just doing it alone.”

Gretta Koppers, Class of ’22

“One piece of the DEI work at TA is a student group called the Student Alliance for Racial Justice. I am learning to become a better advocate against racial injustices as I work towards becoming actively anti-racist.”

Kayla Busby, Class of ’21

“TA is a very close community. When I first came to TA, I never felt afraid to ask anyone questions. And people always offered. It was just very welcoming and accepting.”

Ethan Marshia, Class of ’22

“I’m thinking about being a teaching assistant next year in the environmental studies and outdoor education class. I just think if I could help some other kids have as much fun as I did, it’d be pretty cool.”
