Dear TA Families & Students, When Governor Phil Scott issued his original school dismissal order last month, he suggested it would last until April 3. In that early scenario, TA students and staff would be returning to campus tomorrow morning to resume our familiar routines. I know many of us wish that were true and are still adapting to our new reality. Thetford Academy senior Elle Dixon is a not only a cross country and track athlete, a competitive skier, and a standout writer, she is an up-and-coming scientist. For the last two years, Elle has been studying with the New Hampshire Academy of Science in its intensive summer STEM programs. This year, course registrations will look nothing like they have in your previous years at TA. The process this year is entirely digital, with all necessary documents online and electronic submission of your registration choices. Thetford Academy senior Morgan Busby has always had a passion for caring for others. In her junior year at TA, Morgan enrolled at River Bend Career and Technical Center's (RBCTC) Health Sciences program to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. By the end of her junior year, she had earned her license to be an LNA (Licensed Nursing Assistant) and began working at Kendal at Hanover. The following message was sent to TA families through our emergency notification system via voicemail, email, and text on Friday, March 27 at 1:15 p.m. Dear Thetford Academy Parents and Guardians, Late yesterday Vermont Governor Phil Scott ordered schools in our state to extend the dismissal period through June.
