Eight Thetford Academy indoor track athletes traveled to the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston on Saturday, March 2, to compete with the best track athletes in New England. “We came into the meet with four goals,” Coach Charlie Buttrey said. “One, that the boys 4 x 800 relay team would reclaim its state record. Two TA Students Finished 1st in Last Year's Contest The Freedom & Unity Youth Film Contest has opened and is excited to receive submissions from youth filmmakers in Vermont. Inspired by the Vermont Movie Project, The Freedom & Unity Youth Film Contest invites young Vermonters to create films exploring the life and culture of the Green Mountain State. Through film, young people explore the issues that they find meaningful, make connections between the past and the present, and share their personal stories. Celebrate the natural world and our place in it by watching a lively selection of award winning films from the acclaimed Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival. This event is the premier nature film competition celebrating the world’s best science, conservation, wildlife films. Thetford Academy students have started preparing for this year's Operation Day's Work, scheduled for May 8, 2019. On "ODW Day", TA students don't go to school, but instead spend the school day doing a variety of jobs in their local community. All of the money they earn at work is then donated to a nongovernmental organization that serves youth in need. This year, ODW students will be working to benefit the Kenyan Schoolhouse Project. February’s Student of the Month is one of TA’s friendliest juniors.
