Track and Field Teams Compete at States, Boys Earn 2nd, Girls 7th

The track and field team competed at the Division 3 state meet in Burlington on June 4. Out of a field of 20 teams, the girls finished in 7th place and the boys finished in 2nd. Here are a few highlights:

The girls 4×100 of Lacey Parkman, Lizzie Brown, Aislin Peters, and Lily Miller ran the second fastest time in school history (54.34).

The boys 4×100 team of David Thaxton, Zac Amber, Daniel Mann, and Emmett Terry won in a time of 45.83.

The boys 4×400 team of Emmett Terry, Daniel Mann, Zac Amber, and Jay Hill won the final event of the meet.

Sebastian Perdrizet won the 100, 200, long jump, and triple jump. In the triple jump, Sebastian jumped 47’ 7”, which set a new all-division state record. His jump was more than a foot better than the previous state record, which had stood since 2007 (before some members of our team were born).
