Come enjoy some light-hearted drama put on by Ray Chapin’s drama students on Thursday and Friday, Jan. 11 and 12, at 7 p.m. in the Martha Jane Rich Theater, for the 21st annual Ten-Minute Play Festival. The plays being performed are written by a variety of people, from famous playwrights to TA alumni. Tickets will be sold at the door for $5 and students will be able to attend for free!...

On Friday, Jan. 5, Emily Silver’s Creative Writing class presented a sample of the pieces that they have written throughout the semester.  In a special program in the Martha Jane Rich theater, the 15 students presented a wide variety of writing, ranging from long stories to short poems that were a good mix of silly, heartfelt, and personal. The students engaged and entertained the audience with the use of props, music, pictures, and high energy....

The Instrumental and Choral Concert, rescheduled for Thursday, Jan. 4, at 6:30 p.m., has been postponed due to inclement weather. Stay tuned for information on the rescheduling of this event. From previous post: There will be over 60 student musicians performing a variety of music encompassing a broad variety of musical styles and eras. The chorus program, directed by Jennifer Yocom, will include a French dance piece, “Mambo Italiano,” a beautiful winter song with words by Sara Teasdale, the traditional Hallelujah Chorus, a holiday song from “Peanuts,” and more. When our December Student of the Month found herself at challenging spots both in Mrs. Barton’s Economics class and in World History with Kelly Welsh, she demonstrated the grit and determination necessary to succeed. “Many students hit dead ends shortly after they begin their research papers,” Kelly explained, “and many others start a paper with great promise only to later run out of the time and energy needed to revise and improve their work.
