The Panthers were among the smallest teams competing at the Connecticut Valley Conference Championship on Saturday, but both teams stood out with strong performances. Out of 15 teams, the boys finished fifth and the girls came in first place, edging Hanover High School by one point. The girls victory was the first time that Thetford Academy has won a CVC track championship. TA put up several first place finishes in individual events, too. TA's Arts department is coming together for its annual celebration of the arts on May 25. The Arts Exposition will feature student artwork, music, and performances from the visual arts to the culinary arts, from design technology to chorus and instrumental music. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with delicious hors d'oeuvres from the Meal Planning and Preparation class and an art show featuring student work from the Expressive Drawing and Printmaking course, Ceramics, and the middle school arts elective. As of this writing, the varsity Panthers baseball team is up 6-4, heading into the final stretch of the regular season ranked 3rd behind the Hazen Wildcats and Green Mountain. The Panthers kicked off this month's games with a streak of wins - taking down Lamoille 9-7, Harwood 18-13 -in what the Valley News characterized as a "wild one" - and Lake Region 13-7 in a sixth inning comeback. This weekend, Thetford Academy is excited to present the hit musical, Godspell.
