Dear TA Families, The 2022-2023 school year has come to a close, and what a finale it was!  Congratulations to the Class of 2023, who celebrated their graduation on Friday evening. The ceremony was held in the Vaughan Alumni Gymnasium due to the weather, and the skies cleared in time for an outside reception afterwards. Congratulations to the 42 members of the Class of 2023! Thetford Academy's 204th graduation ceremony on June 9, held in the Vaughan Alumni Gymnasium, marked the end of high school for TA's seniors and the beginning of new adventures and opportunities. The weather and the move indoors did not dampen spirits as family, friends, and classmates filled the seats and bleachers to celebrate the milestone with the graduates. Thetford Academy's Panthers defeated White River Valley 6-0 on Saturday to win the Division III State Championship in baseball for the first time since 1986 - and only the second time in the team's history. White River Valley's Wildcats, however, had earned three titles in a row - Division III in 2019 and Division IV in 2020 and 2021. Go Panthers! TA's varsity softball and varsity baseball teams had an exciting week, winning both quarterfinal and semifinal games. They are off to the Division III state championships: baseball will play rival White River Valley at Centennial Field in Burlington on Saturday at 11:00 a.m., and the softball team will take on Oxbow at Castleton University in Castleton at 5:00 p.m. See below for more details and ticket information - hope to see you there! This Friday, Thetford Academy will celebrate Class Day and its 204th commencement. The 42-member Class of 2023 will start their graduation day in the gym - with the whole school community - for the TA tradition of Class Day. Class Day begins with underclassmen awards and honors, followed by the seniors' presentation of their "Last Will and Testaments" and a slideshow of their time together at TA. The second part of the morning will be held on the front lawn, weather permitting. The Panthers continued their track and field winning streak last Thursday at the Division III State Championship meet. The boys won the event, taking home the state title for the fourth straight year, and the girls earned second behind White River Valley. Since 2018, the girls have placed first or second every year. Notably, coach Emily Silver has now coached 14 state championship track and field teams (11 boys and 3 girls).
