Header photo by Charlotte Reimanis '23 As we approach the end of the fall semester, campus is buzzing with teachers and students preparing for the culmination of their fall semester courses. All of our learners are reflecting on their progress from the past five months, synthesizing information and skills into final projects, exams, and performances. The following are some examples of the creative and diverse ways students are demonstrating their learning from the semester. Curran Broderick’s photography class has been creating photo books. Each student is curating their larger semester-long collection into an intentional set of images chosen around a specific theme....

Header photo by Katie Lozancich @_katielo This fall, after visiting Thetford Academy for the first time in 15 years, Alex Showerman ‘06 hopped back in her car and headed west. An elite outdoor athlete, Alex was due in Utah to catch the 20th anniversary of mountain biking’s Red Bull Rampage, the industry’s premier big-mountain freeride event. Turns out, we were lucky to catch her–Alex is a woman who is always moving.  Growing up in the (mostly) unplugged 90s and early 2000s, Alex was an active, outdoor kid. After a long hiatus, Thetford Academy's instrumental and choral students were proud to present their winter concert on December 15, 2021 in the Vaughan Alumni Gymnasium. With a backdrop of photographs captured by TA photography and yearbook students, the concert was a welcome return to live performance and sharing the joy of music with one another. The concert featured TA's stage band and the middle school chorus with 9th grade soloist Zach Nalette. Led by choral teacher John Luce, the chorus's uplifting set included Bobby McFerrin's "Don't Worry, Be Happy," a medley from the musical The Fantasticks, Joy to the World,...

This season of giving, we invite you to join us with a year-end gift to Thetford Academy. Your gift helps TA sustain and grow our academic program, develop extracurricular opportunities for every student, and offer robust arts and athletics programming all year long. A gift to TA supports immersive, outdoor education opportunities like our half-day Environmental Studies and Outdoor Education Course. It provides funding for new curriculum, projects, and programs that reflect the needs and interests of our student body. It's advanced language learning, computer coding, performing arts, and sustainable agriculture right here on campus. The annual fund is a foundation...
