Dear TA Families & Students, We welcomed the good news on Tuesday from Governor Scott and his team that the rate of cases in Vermont has stabilized, thanks in large part due to Vermonters’ willingness to abide by the state’s restrictions. We are processing the new guidance related to winter athletics that Gov. Scott issued yesterday and can share the following updates at this time: We are reviewing the revised VT guidance and have yet to finalize decisions regarding the option and parameters for a basketball season at TA this winter. Dear TA Families, Today's brilliant white expanse of snow and clear blue sky made for a beautiful final day of 2020 here on campus. The past four months have been quite a journey - but we made it, thanks to everyone's collective effort! Kudos to students and teachers for continuing to spend time outdoors, even in chilly temps. Our very own TA TOP elf came through with a holiday gift for every student: a warm hat to enhance the outdoor learning experience. Dear TA Families, Earlier today, Thetford Academy learned about a student with positive test results for COVID-19. Based on the particulars of the situation, we have determined that students and staff on campus were not exposed and that we do not need to close pods or the school.  We want you to know that we are taking every precaution to keep our school community safe. Dear TA Families, Please note the following important program updates for the remaining weeks of Fall Semester: 1. January Calendar Changes We are extending the fall semester (and specifically the 2nd quarter) by one week. Please visit the TA Today page on the school website to review the online school calendar for all updates. Thetford Academy middle and high school students have teamed up with Montpelier-based nonprofit Up for Learning to make a difference in our school community. With support from the Mount Ascutney Prevention Partnership and led by TA's Student Assistance Provider Kara Toms, two groups of students (a middle school and a high school group) are participating in Up for Learning's "Getting to Y" program.
