Head of School Weekly Email: Mountain Vistas & College on the Horizon

Dear TA Families,

Mountain Day!
Friday was a glorious day to carry on TA’s Mountain Day tradition. Sunny skies made for beautiful views and good hiking conditions. Mountain Day is a mix of physical challenge, adventure, and camaraderie with classmates – and we hope everyone found the right balance, and ended the day with a sense of accomplishment and a memorable experience. We are still gathering photos from all of the classes and will share a gallery link next week. A few from the 8th grade and 12th grade are attached below.

College Info Night & College Rep Visits
This Thursday, Sept. 25 the Counseling Department will host their annual fall workshop about the college application process. Geared toward seniors and their families, the online session will feature information about timelines, the common app, testing, scholarships, and more. Throughout the fall, the Counseling Department is also hosting college rep visits during power hour. Details are sent to juniors and seniors each week by email and are also posted around school. Coming up this week: Plymouth State on Tuesday, Dartmouth on Wednesday, and St. Lawrence on Friday.

Fall Sports
On the athletics front this week, we have a slate of away competitions and wish our athletes well as they travel near and far – to Sharon, Hartford, Stowe, Lamoille, Montpelier, and more. Hard to believe but we are almost at the midpoint of the season. Here is last week’s overview of the Panther fall teams.

Thanks,

Carrie Brennan, Head of School
