Head of School Weekly Email: 1st Semester Report Cards, 2nd Semester Launch
January 23, 2026
Dear TA Families,
New Semester
There was lots of good energy on campus this week as we launched the new semester. New classes, new teachers, new routines! Change is exciting and inspiring, and can also be a bit intimidating. We hope your student had a smooth start. Please reach out – or encourage your student to do so – with any questions about the new schedule. Your student’s counselor, advisor, or the front office can help provide answers and guidance.
Report Cards
We published the Quarter 2/Semester 1 report cards this afternoon at 3:30pm. An email notification and attachment went out to each of the parent/guardian email addresses that we have in Alma and to each student’s thet.net address. Report cards are also available to view in each student’s Alma profile (https://thetfordacademy.getalma.com). If it’s been a while since you’ve logged into Alma, we encourage you to do so. Under the ‘report card’ tab, you will find the most recent report card as well as prior ones from earlier this year and last school year. There are other resources available as well, especially for students in the high school grades, such as the graduation tracking feature and an updated transcript that will reflect credits earned this fall.
Looking Ahead: Monthly Friday Half Days
As part of our commitment to providing time for professional learning and collaboration for TA educators, there are six half days scheduled throughout the school year to allow for afternoon professional development. While two of them are already behind us (Oct. 31 and Dec. 5), most take place this semester, with a monthly half-day Friday happening February through May on 2/6, 3/6, 4/10, and 5/15. These are noted on all of our school calendars – print and online – but I wanted to highlight these dates again to help families plan ahead.
VT Weather Updates
With the current forecasts for this weekend, the Vermont Agency of Education has asked that we share winter weather information with families, including the following resources: www.healthvermont.gov/winter-safety-tips and vem.vermont.gov/vtalert
Featured photo: Thanks to AJ and Alex’s dad, Mark Foster, for capturing the stunning northern lights over the TA fields on Tuesday night.
Stay warm. Be well.
