Head of School Weekly Email: Senior Roundtables, Dartmouth Events & More

Dear TA Families,

Shakespeare’s famous line – ‘All the world’s a stage’ – comes to mind this week, as students stepped into the limelight in a variety of venues to share their learning and creativity with community audiences.

Senior Roundtables Begin
Andy MacNeil ’26 kicked off the spring season of seniors taking the stage to present their portfolios today. Andy volunteered to do his senior roundtable with a bigger audience than most students, by presenting in front of the entire TA faculty during inservice. What a courageous move – and a generous offer to support teacher learning. Thank you, Andy! The rest of the senior class will do their portfolio roundtable presentations on April 10 or May 15, with an audience of junior and senior classmates and a small panel of faculty. Family members are invited and encouraged to participate.

More Stage Moments: The TA Show, HACTC Honor Society & Sugaring Presentations
The Operation Days Work club hosted the TA Show on Thursday evening, spotlighting a variety of talent acts, ranging from the silly to the sublime. The annual event serves as a charity fundraiser to support ODW’s chosen nonprofit in a developing country. Thanks to all of the students who put together a show to share – all for a good cause! More about ODW’s service day on May 8 soon.

We had another student inducted into the National Technical Honor Society. Congratulations to River Stoddard ’26, who attends the IT program at Hartford Area Career and Technical Center! HACTC held their celebration honoring inductees on stage at their Hartford High School campus this week.

Really anything can be a stage, when there is an audience assembled to listen, watch, and learn. We welcomed TES kindergarten students, the Open Fields School, and TES 5th and 6th graders on three different afternoons this week to come explore our TA sugaring operation. Students in the environmental studies and outdoor education class took center stage in and around the sugar shack to share their expertise – and a taste of sweet syrup – with their younger visitors.

Dartmouth College Community Events

Wishing everyone a restful weekend,
