Celebrate the Arts at TA This Friday!

Thetford Academy’s student artists – musicians, performers, painters, designers, chefs, and more – will come together on Friday night to showcase their work to the community and celebrate the arts at TA. Doors open at 5:15 p.m. and guests are invited to enjoy a variety of delicious hors d’oeuvres prepared by students in our Culinary Arts program.

Visual Arts students will showcase work in a variety of media, including painting, ceramics, mixed media, and linocut printing. Design technology students will feature their woodwork, as well as a model of this year’s timber framing design and build project.

The concert begins at 6pm with TA’s Musical Theater class, who will light up the stage with the will perform selections of musical theater songs from Dear Evan Hansen, Hamilton, and High School Musical. They will also present encore performances from our recent spring musical, Cabaret. The High School chorus will perform standards from the classic American songbook.

Next up are instrumental performances from the high school stage band and instrumental music classes, The instrumental classes will be playing rock, blues, classical, and country/rock tunes from The Beatles, Tracy Chapman, John Williams, and Rascal Flatts. The stage band will be playing soul, funk, jazz, and rock tunes, including songs by James Brown, Betty Wright, Jean Knight, Sly and the Family Stone, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Franz Ferdinand, and Edgar Winter.
