Dear TA Families,

We are 3+ weeks into the semester and hope that students are feeling comfortable with their school routines and engaged in their learning. 

Autumn Learning Outdoors
We have had lots of beautiful September days that have allowed teachers and students to take lessons outdoors. Today’s photos feature a few of many examples:

• Ryan Gilmour’s Algebra I class explored their mathematical concepts on a much larger scale today, creating a human parabola on the soccer field.
• Jessica Williams’ Foods Around the World class ventured to the school garden to gather herbs for their next recipes.
• Scott Ellis’ Ecological Literacy class took a canoe trip to Gilman Island last week to learn about the island’s history, as part of their storytelling unit focused on stories from around the Upper Valley.

Mid-September Events:

1. Homecoming Game – Sat. 9/19 (tomorrow!)
This year’s Homecoming Saturday will feature the Varsity girls soccer team, with a home game against Montpelier High School at 11am. Student council will be hosting and have cool prizes and swag to give away. Wear TA blue and put your panther pride on display. Join in the fun tomorrow morning on TA’s upper field and help cheer on our athletes!

2. College Information Night for Seniors – Thur. 9/24
Seniors and their families have received information about this virtual evening event from Counseling Coordinator Tippi Oshoniyi, [email protected]. The presentation will be recorded for those who cannot attend on the 24th. 

3. Mountain Day – Fri. 9/25
We are looking forward to our class trips to six different mountains next Friday! This is a really memorable TA fall tradition that we encourage everyone to participate in. All students and families have received information (and the required permission slip) from Outdoor Program Coordinator/Teacher Scott Ellis, [email protected].
