Dear TA Families, I was reminded many times this week of the power of showing up. It all starts with people being willing to be present and participate - whatever the 'it' might be! The Thetford Historical Society is gearing up for another exciting spring speaker series, which this year, will focus on Vermont's abundant forests. The series, "Vermont's Forests: Past, Present, and Future" features three local foresters who will share their perspectives on how Vermont's forests shape our identity and landscape - and how we can best manage them sustainably for years to come. Forester, digital creator, author Ethan Tapper will open the series at Thetford Academy on April 3rd at 7:00 p.m. with a deep dive into the history of Vermont's forests, and how this history impacts how Vermonters manage our forests...

Dear TA Families, No foolin' - April arrives on Tuesday! The Thetford Academy Times, known affectionately by students as "TAT," is Thetford Academy's school newspaper, written and produced by entirely by students. Though many high quality versions of a TA newspaper have been produced in the school's history, when the Thetford Academy Times launched in 2023, it had been several years since a paper had been published on campus. Student journalists in TAT were determined to bring back this important vehicle for student voice and expression, and have now produced four editions of TAT - one each semester that the club has been active. Dear TA Families, Until the snow blew in on a cold wind this morning, we spent most of the week enjoying springlike days on campus. Recent weather has been conducive to a productive sugaring season thus far. Students who sugar at home were invited up at assembly on Monday to share a bit of their experience with the school audience. On March 12, six Thetford Academy students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society at River Bend Career and Technical Center.
