Teeth The Ronald McDonald Dental trailer is returning to campus at the beginning of May.  Students can get their teeth cleaned and if they have cavities or need sealants the dentist provides that care. This weekend, several athletes from Thetford Academy's indoor track team competed at the New England High School Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. TA's team competed in three events, the 4 x 800 relay, the 2-mile run, and the long jump. Several students beat their personal records, and three put up new Thetford Academy indoor track records. Sophomore Uly Junker-Boyce jumped 20' 3 1/2" in the long jump, a PR that placed him third on school record board. He was also the top sophomore at the meet. The first part of Thetford's Town Meeting, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, featured a school budget informational meeting. Thetford Academy Head of School Carrie Brennan and Donna Steinberg, chair of the the TA Board of Trustees, presented, alongside TES principal Bernice Mills and the president of the Thetford School Board, Julie Acker. Before February break, Thetford Academy's middle school English students were studying up for the school's annual spelling bee, a qualifying event for Vermont's Scripps State Spelling Bee in March. On February 20th, the top three spellers in each of the two seventh grade sections – along with interested 8th grade spellers - took the stage in the Martha Jane Rich Theater to compete for a spot at the state competition. The girls varsity basketball team ended its title run with a tough 44-40 loss vs. the Windsor Yellowjackets on Saturday. The Panthers were riding high from their semifinal rout of #2 seed Hazen (60-32) where the team's focus and determination were on full display. In an interview with the Valley News, junior Charlize Brown, the game's high scorer, said, “I came into this game knowing that we are such a strong, impactful team when we work together.” Brown led the Panthers with a season-high 20 points, junior Addison Cadwell added 16, and Madi Mousley put up 12.
