On Saturday, November 9th, Brady Sloop and Ava Hayden represented Thetford Academy at the 89th Annual New England Interscholastic Cross Country Championships.  Brady and Ava qualified for this event by finishing in the top 25 (across all divisions) at the Vermont State Championships held at Thetford Academy on October 26th. Following the state meet, Brady and Ava spent the next two weeks continuing their training. Their training included both primary workouts and maintenance runs, but with the regular season now over for the rest of their teammates, they only had each other for company. Dear TA Families, Next week, at long last, the bridge connecting Thetford, VT and Lyme, NH will reopen. While only 18 months in duration, the project took place over the course of three school years, starting in the spring semester of 2022-23 and ending in the fall semester of 2024-25. What a relief for our Lyme students and families - and some of our TA staff - whose daily commute to and from Thetford Academy tripled in length. On Saturday Nov 2, 2024, 32 robot teams from Vermont and New Hampshire converged on Vaughan Alumni Gymnasium at Thetford Academy for the first annual Haunted Harvest Robotics Tournament. It was the first time TA had hosted a tournament in over ten years, and due to the outstanding planning team led by Catherine Kutter and Karen MacPhee, it went off without a hitch. Sonya Sotomayor, Oprah Winfrey, Brad Pitt, Weird Al Yankovic, and Zac Efron. What do these notable people all have in common? They joined their high school speech and debate teams! Dear TA Families, We had a fun spirit week and lots of Halloween creativity.
