The International Student Program at TA is excited to welcome five students to campus this year, two returning and three new to TA. Seung Gyu (Alex) Kim, a senior from Seoul, Korea, returns for his 4th year at TA. Shisi (Cissy) Dai, a junior from Beijing, China begins her third year with TA. In addition, Thetford Academy has partnered with AFS to enroll two students from Italy, Maria Rossi and Alessandro Monticchio, who join our junior class for a one-year study abroad experience. And finally, we welcome Gonzalo de Cavajal Cebrian from Madrid, Spain. He joins the Class of '23...


On Monday, Thetford Academy's full faculty returned to campus for the 2020-2021 school year. With a delayed school start date and the COVID-19 pandemic upending everything "usual" about teaching and learning, TA's in-service this year will run two weeks instead of its normal few days. This much-needed additional time is helping TA educators prepare for a positive, safe, and successful reopening for students on Sept. 8. Training sessions and meetings during the first week of inservice focused on a range of topics including: safety protocols, planning for the pod model, student social and emotional well-being, best practices for hybrid teaching, antiracist...


For the last 29 years, Thetford Academy has been the proud host of the Woods Trail Run, widely considered the best of New England's middle and high school cross country circuit every year. This year, as bus after bus pulled into TA's lots, the temperature hovered at 32 degrees and a dense fog hung over the campus. The cold temperatures did nothing to dampen the energy and excitement of the 96 middle and high school cross country teams who flooded TA's parking lots and fields. The Institute for Security, Technology and Society (ISTS) at Dartmouth College is pleased to offer, once again, free summer programs exploring cybersecurity to area high school students. We appreciate your assistance in encouraging students to apply for one of these five day programs, that will run July 9th through July 13th (Introductory Program) and July 30th through August 3rd (Advanced Program). With funding from GenCyber, a partnership between the National Science Foundation and the National Security Agency, our GenCyber weeks help young people learn about cybersecurity and how skills in that area can pay off for them in the future. With additional support...


The TA 7th graders will be selling pies this Saturday, Oct. 7, on the Thetford Hill Green from 9 a.m. until the pies are gone. Come support the TA 7th graders as they raise money for their Washington DC trip in the spring. Pies are $15. Event happens rain or shine. Also available for purchase: "Cow Plop Flop," with 60/40 Raffle Tickets available for $10 each.
