Dear TA Families, Early January is a busy time of transition, as we return from holiday break and immerse ourselves back into classes for the final stretch of the semester. Students are working on culminating projects, essays, performances, exams, and reflections. This is an especially intense period for high school students, whose current roster of classes comes to an end on January 11. Dear TA Families, And 2023 is a wrap! We had a full day of classes yesterday, with some holiday fun in advisory thrown in, and today begins a well-deserved vacation for students and staff. The Thetford Academy offices will be closed from today through January 1, and we look forward to resuming school in the new year on Tuesday, January 2. Dear TA Families, Last week I featured students taking their learning onto the stage, over the airwaves, and into the woods in the 'student learning spotlights' section of my weekly email. Today I want to share more examples of TA classes and clubs testing their knowledge and skills in real world settings during the culminating weeks of the semester. Students in the Cooking for Health class prepared another dish for the whole school community this week, with ingredients sourced from the TA garden. The Panthers have been preparing for their winter season openings, with alpine skiing, basketball, and indoor track athletes practicing and conditioning in advance of their first contests. Basketball was the first to compete with home games for both the boys and girls varsity and JV teams. On Tuesday, the JV and Varsity girls faced Williamstown and walked away with their first W's - the varsity team handily taking down Williamstown 60-35.
