Thetford Academy Flu Clinic October 10th 11:30 AM -1:00PM in the school gym. This is for students & staff. Sign - up forms can be found here. I am confirming by email when I receive parents/guardians' student's flu consents.Illnesses • There is a head cold going around with a lot congestion, sore throat & a cough. • There is a stomach bug going around • We've had 2 cases of pneumonia • We've had 3 cases of Hand, Foot & Mouth disease, students may return to school when their fever is gone & they are feeling better. On Friday, we experienced a fantastic day of hiking, relishing the beauty of nature alongside our classmates and colleagues as each class made their way up the nearby mountains visible from the White Building's steps. Despite the fog obstructing the views on some peaks, the weather was excellent and made for a comfortable day on our 46th annual TA Mountain Day! Last week, Thetford Academy’s VEX robotics team 4886 S - Connor Kutter-Walker '26 and Duncan MacPhee '27- headed to Maine to compete in the state’s first-ever VEX V5 Signature Event.  The Robotics Education and Competition Foundation describes these Signature events as “an amped-up version of tournament play,” designed to give students the opportunity to play in a world class tournament. They feature “a level of technical expertise, production value, and overall event quality that is above and beyond that of a standard tournament.” Maine’s Lobstah Bowl, hosted by the University of Maine at Orono, featured 43 talented teams from across the U.S....


TA's cross country team ran at the Manchester Invitational this past Saturday. Captains Ava Hayden and Brady Sloop led their teams with top 10 finishes in their respective races. Ava finished 5th (out of 219 racers), covering the 5K course for Varsity Small Schools in 20:34. On the boys side, Brady was 9th out of 280 racers, finishing in a time of 17:04. Mountain Day! Yesterday the whole school ventured out to six trailheads in our region, stretching from Mt. Moosilauke in the north to Mt. Ascutney in the south, carrying on TA's Mountain Day tradition, first started in 1979. It was a beautiful day to enjoy autumn beauty and connect as a community. On Thursday at 6pm, TA's Counseling team will host a virtual information night for seniors (and their families) thinking about college or planning to apply to college this fall. The event is designed to provide an overview of the college application process and offer resources and tips for success. Topics will include: how to navigate the college application process, applying for financial aid, and identifying scholarship opportunities. Counselors will also share information for students considering a gap year or deferred enrollment.
