It was an exciting race season for TA's alpine skiers, culminating in the State Championship at Burke Mountain on March 1 and 2. TA sent six skiers from its boys team to the event: Ben Acker, Liam Patterson, Logan Wurtz, Harland Ransom, Isaac Yukica, Oliver Yukica, and Uly Junker-Boyce. Despite a disappointing team finish, there were many moments on the course worth celebrating. This Health Office update was sent to families by email on March 4, 2021. Spring is getting closer. It's so nice to see the long daylight hours. Current illnesses:TA is seeing a few scattered cases of a stomach bug and some cases of influenza.  If your child has sore throat, headache, cough, fever, vomiting, diarrhea they need to, please, stay home.Students with upper respiratory symptoms still need to do a home rapid Covid test. This season has been quite a ride for our Panthers. Last night's playoff game v. the Vergennes Commodores ended in defeat for the varsity boys, officially closing the 2021-2022 season for TA. After graduating some of TA's powerhouse players last year, this season's developing team worked incredibly hard both on and off the court; it's clear that these Panthers will be a team to watch out for in the coming years. Dear TA Students & Families, As I'm sure many of you are aware from recent news reports, Governor Scott let go of the recommendation to require masking in schools as of 2/28/22, for those schools at or above an 80% student vaccination rate. The governor's new recommendation to make masks optional is guidance (and not a mandate). After the last bell signaled the end of the school day and the beginning of February break, TA’s campus cleared out quickly, leaving only one group of students behind. In the robotics classroom, TA’s team 4886 was hard at work preparing for the next day’s VT/NH VEX Robotics State Championship. The event, held on Saturday, February 19, at Manchester Community College in NH, was a qualifying event for the VEX Robotics World Championships.
