Kait Christensen ’27 Earns Spot in Can Am U14 Alpine Race

Kait Christensen, an 8th grade student at Thetford Academy, was recently selected to race in the U14 Can Am events at Quebec’s Mont Tremblant. The Can Am races feature the best skiers in the 12-13 age group; only the top 80 U14 female skiers in North America qualify to compete.

Christensen, who is part of Burke Mountain’s Junior Racing Program, earned a top 10 spot in eight of her team’s nine races this season. At States, her performance qualified her for the HS Eastern Regional Championship in Lake Placid, NY. Her best result there was a 14th place finish in the giant slalom among close to 80 racers.

At the Can Am, Christense was excited to be able to compete among the top skiers in her age group, and proud to place in the top half in all three disciplines – Super G, Giant Slalom, and Slalom. “It was really great to be recognized as one of the top U14 skiers this year. Last season, I broke my leg in February so I missed so much. I was proud of how strong my season was considering that injury,” Kait said.

Congratulations to Kait on a great season!
