Head of School Weekly Email: Musical & More!

Dear TA Families,

The school year is reaching a crescendo, as students work on and finish culminating projects in their classes. Two amazing examples are highlighted below, with this weekend’s musical and a new timber frame structure that was raised on campus yesterday.

We have two more ‘regular’ weeks of school, followed by the final exams and projects week, June 5-9. Check out the list of special dates below. This week’s news includes the following highlights:

Spring Musical – Godspell
Come one! Come all! The circus is in town!  No, we’re not clowning around! Don’t miss Thetford Academy’s spring musical production of Godspell. Clear your calendar for a spectacular rendition of the timeless tale of friendship, loyalty and love based on the gospel according to St. Matthew. Prepare ye! This show is “in tents”! Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 dollars for students. Online sales are closed. Tickets available at the door. Showtimes: May 19 and 20 at 7pm. May 21 at 3pm. Location: Martha Jane Rich Theater in Anderson Hall at Thetford Academy.

New Timber Frame Structure
Congratulations to this year’s student crew in the timber frame class for designing and building a beautiful new pergola for the school community! This structure is a wonderful addition to the greenhouse courtyard area tucked between the arts and science buildings, on the west side of campus. Check out the attached photos of the raising on Thursday.

TOP Summer Leadership Program
Final call to sign up for summer trips and camps! Spots still available in the Backpacking Trip, GLOW, Garden Camp, and Vermont Adventure programs. There are experiences for students at all levels of outdoor knowledge and background. Open to middle school and high school students. More info and registration: HERE. If the cost is a hurdle for your family, scholarships are available.

Mental Health & Suicide Program – May 21
CommunityCare of Lyme and other Upper Valley partners are hosting what they call a ‘community conversation’ with mental health professionals on the important topic of suicide in our region. The event is open to the public, free, and takes place in Lyme on Sunday from 4-7pm. Attached is the flyer for more details.
