Head of School Weekly Email: Final Notes for 2023-24

Dear TA Families,

I’m sending my final weekly email of the year. Thanks for reading along with me and staying connected to school happenings these past 10 months!

Congratulations to the Class of 2024!

We had three special send-off events for the seniors last week: Baccalaureate with families on Sunday evening, Class Day on Friday morning with students and staff, and Graduation that night with the whole community. We risked the weather and enjoyed an outdoor ceremony with the full beauty of a Thetford Hill sunset! The student speeches, songs, poems, and performances at both baccalaureate and graduation were an inspiration. Thank you to our official event photographer Dan Grossman for capturing this special milestone for the seniors and their families. A few photos are attached below; check out the full collection on his photography website. The Valley News also provided coverage of the TA graduation in last weekend’s paper (nice story but no photos).

Year-end details & deadlines

We will mail out report cards the week of June 24, so keep an eye out at home. Students were requested to bring in school materials last week – laptops and chargers, textbooks, novels, calculators, athletic uniforms, and library books. If you still have items lingering at home, please return them by June 26 to avoid being billed replacement fines. The front office is open from 8:30am-2:30pm through the remainder of June and will be closed the week of July 1-5.

Swing by campus this summer!

While the TA campus quiets down a bit over the next few months, we still have a lot of activity going on for the community this summer. We invite you and your families to join in the fun! Our Schoolhouse Rocks summer concert series is back for a second year and kicks off this Sunday 6/23 at 6pm. We continue to partner with the Thetford Arthouse Cinema, with films playing on Tuesday and Friday nights in the Martha Jane Rich Theater. Tuesdays are especially busy, with the community ‘fun runs’ on the 5K Dan Grossman Woods Trail (registration at 5:45pm, run at 6pm) as well as the Tuesdays in the Garden program (running July 9-August 20). There is something for everyone, and all events are free and open to the community. Check the calendar and news pages on our website for updates. We hope to see you!

Wishing everyone an enjoyable summer season,

Carrie Brennan, Head of School
