Thetford Academy Track and Field Athletes Poised to Make History at State Meet
January 13, 2025

The Thetford Academy indoor track and field team is poised to make history at the State Meet in two weeks. Already, TA’s Panther athletes have turned in eye-popping performances: Senior Uly Junker-Boyce broke the state record in both the 55 meter dash and the 300, and senior Ava Hayden is now the state record holder in the 1600.
Uly is also the school record holder in the long jump and is part of the school-record 4 x 200 relay team, along with juniors Emmett Terry and David Thaxton, and sophomore Sebastian Perdrizet. Meanwhile, Ava currently holds the school record in every distance from the 300 through the 1600.
Nor are they not alone atop the record board: Senior Evan Rich now holds the school record in the high jump (1.85m 6′ 3/4″), and senior Brady Sloop is the school record holder in both the 1000 and the 1600.
The indoor track season ends at UVM with the state meet on Sunday, January 26th. The goal is to clinch the state title in Division II Track and Field – and with this team’s momentum, it just might happen!
