Collaboration, Connection & Preparation: August Inservice Days

Following the quieter summer months on campus with just a dozen or so employees keeping the school humming, we welcomed teachers, paraeducators, and other staff on a school-year calendar back to school last Thursday for three packed days of professional development.

Back-to-school inservice days provide vital time for educators to prepare for the launch of a new year and to reconnect as colleagues. The agenda includes a mix of large group sessions, department meetings, grade-level team planning, and individual classroom prep time. Activities range from the fun (scavenger hunt in the garden) to the serious (annual bloodborne pathogens training) – and always include some fabulous meals together as well.

One of the things we pride ourselves on at Thetford Academy is our commitment to fostering a positive school culture. This starts with the adults, as they come together together in August to reconnect, collaborate, and rekindle their shared focus on student success.
