NAMI NH to Host Free Suicide Prevention Training at Thetford Academy

Thetford Academy will host the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) NH for the Connect Suicide Prevention Training on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 4 p.m. in the school library. The training, offered with support from ALL Together Coalition and the Greater Sullivan County Public Health Network, is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to prevent suicide and support healing after a loss. This free training is geared toward adults and open to the public.

The NAMI NH Connect Suicide Prevention Training is based on the Social-Ecological Model (SEM), which approaches suicide within the context of the individual’s relationships, family, community, culture, and society at large. The goal of Connect is to increase the capacity of professionals and community members to prevent suicide using a public health approach and key elements of the National Suicide Prevention Strategy.

This comprehensive training will be tailored to our community’s needs and has community planning built in. It is a unique and holistic model that focuses on preventing and intervening in suicide across the lifespan. As a leading model for both prevention and postvention, The Connect Program provides training and support across the U.S. and internationally and recognizes that we are all community helpers.
