Thetford Academy Artists Exhibit Work at AVA Gallery

Seven Thetford Academy artists have their work on display in the 18th annual AVA Gallery and Art Center High School Exhibition – an event TA has participated in for all 18 years! The show, featuring more than 100 works by emerging artists from 14 regional schools across the Upper Valley, opened on Friday, February 27 and runs through March 28, 2026. Participating students include: Harper Grant ’28, Stone Reigler ’28, Mary Crockett ’28, Stella Girdwood ’27, Nina Sullivan ’27, Sophia Harvey ’26, Daniel Mann ’26.

Each year, high school art faculty are invited to nominate students for the show and help put a spotlight on young artists who demonstrate exceptional promise. In a press release, AVA Curator and Exhibitions Manager Samantha Eckert said, “This exhibition represents the future of art in our region. These young artists are pushing boundaries, experimenting with materials, and making art that challenges and inspires us. We’re excited to celebrate their achievements and show our community what the next generation is capable of.”

At the opening reception, Eckert and the show’s juror Amy Morel, a visual artist whose welded steel sculptures and paper collages have been exhibited nationally, presented awards for creativity and technical skill. Congratulations to Thetford Academy senior Daniel Mann, who earned an honorable mention for his landscape painting.

AVA Gallery is located at 11 Bank Street in Lebanon, NH. For more details about the AVA Gallery and Art Center and the high school exhibition, visit the AVA website: avagallery.org.
