On Saturday, three Thetford Academy students showcased their research at the annual Vermont STEM Fair, hosted at Norwich University. The fair is "an inquiry-based poster presentation competition open to all middle and high school level students in the state of Vermont," and is judged by science and engineering professionals.  Elijah Renner '26, who has competed in the fair for the last three years, calls the event his "favorite day of the year." Thetford Academy will host the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) NH for the Connect Suicide Prevention Training on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 4 p.m. in the school library. The training, offered with support from ALL Together Coalition and the Greater Sullivan County Public Health Network, is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to prevent suicide and support healing after a loss. Thetford Academy's Outdoor Program is looking forward to welcoming students, families, neighbors, and friends for a Maple Community Day on Sunday, March 22, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. In Vermont, sugaring is an integral part of our history and identity. Thetford Academy students Madison Balch and Lorelei St. Martin, both studying Culinary Arts at River Bend Career and Technical Center, recently earned top honors at the VT/NY ProStart Invitational. Hosted by the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, the event is an unique opportunity for culinary arts students to show off what they've learned in their program. Thetford Academy's indoor track team ended its season on a spectacular note with a number of terrific performances at the New England High School Indoor Track Championship meet at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston on February 28th. The girls' 4 x 200m relay team (Lilian Miller '27, Lizzie Brown '27, Aislin Peters '27 and Leah Crossett '27) lowered their own school record, finishing in 1:59.90.
