Head of School Weekly Email: Let It Shine!

Dear TA Families,

There is so much talent at TA – and we’ve been taking it on the road a lot lately, traveling to destinations throughout Vermont and beyond to compete, perform, and shine!

  • Seniors Madison Balch and Lorelei St. Martin competed in the VT/NY state culinary championships and won 1st place in management and 3rd place in cooking. Now they move on to nationals in Baltimore.
  • Juniors Jesse Martin and Kai Slayton grabbed first place in the VT/NH robotics championships last month (read all about it) and now head to the world competition later this spring, along with three other TA robotics teams.
  • Seven TA high school art students have their work on display at AVA Gallery’s annual youth exhibit this month (read all about it). Congratulations to senior Daniel Mann who was awarded an honorable mention in the painting category.
  • Sophomore Ranee Hall represented TA in the statewide Poetry Out Loud competition (read all about it) and made it to the final round, competing and performing yesterday at The Flynn in Burlington.
  • Our alpine skiers and snowboarders competed in state championships earlier this week at Burke Mountain and Jay Peak. Congrats to the brother duo Owen Goodrich ’26 and Oliver Goodrich ’29 for placing 1st and 3rd respectively in giant slalom at the snowboarding state championships.
  • The varsity boys basketball team won their first round of playoffs handily on Tuesday night against BFA-Fairfax and now go up against Woodstock for the quarterfinal game. Game is today! 2pm at Woodstock Union High School.

Talent comes from a lot of practice and passion, so hats off to students for their dedication and drive. Talent also comes from good mentoring, so hats off to all of the teachers and coaches – and parents! – for helping students find their path and pursue their dreams.
