Dear TA Families, On Thursday, we created some extra time for students to work with teachers in office hours sessions and for clubs to meet. While these opportunities are available every week during power hour, the middle of the day can feel rushed and compete with lunch. Ask your student what they chose to do during our special activity schedule yesterday morning, and if they found the time helpful and productive. The Vermont Soccer Coaches Association recently named senior Jacob Gilman to its All State team for Division III. During the course of the season, Gilman earned 14 goals to lead the Panthers to the Division III quarterfinals. Gilman also was recognized in the Capital Division and named to the First Team; teammates Boone Fahey and Justin Robinson were named to the Capital Division's Second Team. Thetford Academy is making the most of this last weekend before the Thanksgiving holiday. The TA Drama Department, under the leadership of new performing arts faculty Jeff Seabaugh, will perform the Tony Award-winning play Peter and the Starcatcher on both Friday and Saturday evenings starting at 7:00 p.m. A swashbuckling, family-friendly story of how an unhappy orphan becomes Peter Pan and a flamboyant pirate becomes Captain Hook, Peter and the Starcatcher is a highly theatrical adaptation of Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson’s best-selling novels. There are at least 3 other viruses making students sick.Flu shots help; please consider having students get their flu shots.
