Guest post by TA robotics coach Leif LaWhite The first robotics tournament of the VEX Spin-Up season is in the books - and it was a great time for TA's team 4886. TA sent 6 robots and 15 roboteurs to the day-long competition at Manchester Community College. Senior team 4886B Beefcake (Marshall Melancon, Isaiah Kol, and Michael Fernandez) won the tournament, while TA's seventh grade team 4886X (Lucca Huling, Stone Riegler, and Jay Hill) stole the show.  Much to the delight of the audience and the judges (and chagrin of all the high-school competitors), at the end of 47 qualifications matches it was...

TA will host the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) next Thursday, November 17, for Financial Aid Forms Night. All are welcome to attend this workshop designed to support families through the financial aid application process. The workshop will cover the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and the Vermont State Grant application. Each holiday season the Thetford Academy Alumni Association lights up the front lawn of Thetford Academy with a memory tree. Individual light bulbs, dedicated to relatives and friends, are placed on the tree in memory of loved ones lost. The tree is illuminated on the first Sunday of December - this year on Sunday, December 4th - and remains lit throughout the holiday season. Bulbs are available for a $3.00 donation and support the Thetford Academy Alumni Association and its work to provide scholarships to graduating students, programmatic support to TA's academic and athletic programs, and more.
