Covid Cases IncreasingThe subvariant BA.2 is very, very contagious. Many families have had recent Covid exposure. Please be smart about masking and distancing around folks you don't know. Be careful over the upcoming break as you travel. Dear TA Families, Yesterday's sunny skies and warm temps meant an increasing amount of outside activity during the school day. The garden, the quad, the athletic fields, the Anderson picnic tables, the trails, the yurt, and the outdoor classroom all provided outdoor spaces for classes, clubs, and lunchtime gatherings. In the fall of 2021, TA's Botany elective course initiated a revitalization project for Thetford Academy’s school greenhouse. With help from the Thetford Outdoor Program’s School Garden Coordinator Ehrin Lingeman and Botany instructor Gary Engler, students developed a plan that would encourage more students to spend time in the greenhouse and gain the benefits of a warm, light-filled green space during Vermont's long winter. Current illnesses: PLEASE: Sick children need to stay home. TA continues seeing many, many cases of an upper respiratory virus.We also continue to see several cases of a stomach bug.If your child is sick they must stay home until they are better. A friendly reminder, students with upper respiratory symptoms still need to take a home rapid Covid test. Dear TA Families, This week's email is a brief note to share the following April updates: Third quarter report cards will come home with students on Monday, April 11.The deadline for sophomores to turn in their course registration for next school year was today.Students in grades 7, 8, and 9 will continue with the state-mandated SBAC testing next Thursday and Friday. They took the language arts portions this week; next week will be the math assessment. Students need to bring their TA-issued laptop fully charged to school.The Class of 2022 is holding a corn hole tournament at TA tomorrow April 9, rain or shine....
