On May 27, 2022 Thetford Academy will host our fifth annual Day of Giving, the largest fundraising event of the school year. This year's theme, "Honor the Past, Create the Future" is a celebration of TA's 200+ years of history and the strong connection between the past, the present, and the future of TA. Every generation of Thetford Academy students, faculty, alumni, parents, and friends has played a crucial role in TA's success - creating a foundation of excellence, community, and time-honored traditions. We are excited this year to announce a TA Day of Giving challenge from the Jack and...

The Musical Theater Production class at TA will present the musical Hello, Dolly! on Friday and Saturday, May 20-21 at 7:00 pm at the MJR Theater, Thetford Academy. The Broadway classic, based on the story “The Matchmaker” by Thornton Wilder, follows the life of Dolly Levi, who says of herself, “Some people paint, some sew… I meddle!” Dolly (played by Cecilia Luce) sets her sights on the “well known half a millionaire” Horace Vandergelder of Yonkers, New York (played by Zach Nalette). Meanwhile, Vandergelder’s employees Cornelius and Barnaby (Andre Whiteberg and Caleb Crossett) look to have an adventure of their own...

Dear TA Families, We just wrapped up a festive week at school, with special activities, outfits, treats, conveyances, raffle prizes, appreciation cards, and more. We hope that every student enjoyed one (or many!) aspects of the week - it sure seemed that way on campus. Big thanks to the TA employees who coordinated our annual student appreciation week tradition this spring. It was a blast! The Class of 2022 is hosting a dance for the whole school this evening, 7:30-9:30pm. The dance will take place outdoors under the Anderson tents. It's a fundraiser to support the seniors, with $5 admission and dino nuggets for...

A tradition of over a decade at Thetford Academy, ODW (Operation Day’s Work) resumed on May 4th, 2022, after a two year pause due to the pandemic. Years ago, TA students were inspired to co-found ODW USA by the established ODW initiative in Norway where children raise millions each year for youth around the world. TA is now one of 10 schools in the United States (and hundreds around the world)...

On May 4, TA hosted its annual Honors Celebration, welcoming honor students and their families into the Vaughan Alumni Gymnasium for a special recognition of students' academic achievement. The theme this year was "Hope," a nod to Emily Dickinson's poem, "'Hope' is the thing with feathers." In her opening comments, Head of School Carrie Brennan spoke to the importance of hope during challenging times, "Hope has been an important inspiration during these pandemic years. We have had to draw on it to sustain us through ‘the storm,’ as Dickinson calls hard times. We’ve had to keep hope perched in our...

TA Panther athletes are off to an impressive start for the spring sports season. In baseball, the Panthers are six games in - with five in the win column. In their third game of the season vs. White River Valley, the team toppled the undefeated Wildcats, who had been 39-0 in two-plus seasons as a program. In the Valley News, Panthers' Coach Phil Chaput said, "“It feels good to walk away with a victory today. WRV is a quality, well-coached team. We played a great game today with effective pitching, timely hitting and we were error-free. This is a total...
