The following letter accompanied student report cards for second quarter/first semester, which were sent home with students on January 26. Dear Thetford Academy Parents and Families, Enclosed you will find your student’s 1st semester report card for Fall 2021. The following was sent to TA families by email on Jan. 24, 2022 from Nurse Ellen Gnaedinger. A thank you to students, parents and staff who are helping to keep well people in school and sick students at home.  Current cases: The good news is we did see a decrease in Covid cases last week. An update from TA robotics coach Leif LaWhite: Departing from TA at 6:15 a.m. and -16F, Thetford Academy’s VEX Robotics team 4886 sent all six middle and high school teams (13 students) to Belmont, NH on Saturday. Photo: Harley Ransom at the starting gate this week at Bromley. Omicron has created some challenges for basketball this season, but we’re seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. The Panthers aim to play a regular schedule this week.  Last Wednesday, the JV boys stepped in to help fill the court for a home game v. Williamstown (51-35). The boys then took on Lamoille (57-50) on Friday with just six players. After a strong start from the Panthers, Lamoille muscled back the lead in the fourth quarter. Dear TA Families, Second semester started on Tuesday, with a whole new slate of classes for high schoolers and new arts/tech electives for the middle schoolers. Check in at home to see what students' experiences have been thus far and learn about their new courses, new teachers, and new routines at school. To the TA Community: Here is our latest health and Covid information for our school community. Current cases: Between January14 and 19, over the long weekend, families notified us of 20 new cases among students. Additionally, the PCR surveillance testing results this week revealed an additional 3 cases yesterday. These 23 cases are spread out over all 6 grades, 7 through 12. What should families do? We assume at this point that there is community spread on the campus, and it's possible your student has come into contact with one or more students who have tested positive over the last weeks.
