The Thetford Academy Performing Arts Department proudly represented Vermont on the national stage at this year's International Thespian Festival, held June 21–26 at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Recognized as the premier theatre event for high school students in the United States, the festival brought together thousands of theatre students from across the country. Three students—Londyn Oshoniyi, Logan Wells, and 2026 graduate Natalie Perry—earned the opportunity to compete in the Thespy Awards. Thetford Academy and Hanover High School will host the second annual Upper Valley Speech and Debate Camp (UVSDC) from August 10-14, 2026, on TA's campus. The half-day program welcomes students entering grades 7 through 10, with a curriculum built to challenge debaters at every level of experience. Over the course of the week, campers will learn the structure and strategy of Public Forum Debate, sharpen their skills through impromptu speaking and constructive argumentation, and receive direct feedback from coaches and experienced student debaters. Join TA this summer for music, fun, and food! Thetford Academy is excited to share this year's dates for the “Schoolhouse Rocks" summer concert series. These free music events on campus kick off Sunday, July 12 at 6:00 p.m. with the return of Vermont-based guitarist and vocalist Zach Nugent and longtime collaborator Josh Weinstein. Food will be available via The Box food truck and Red Kite Ice Cream, with Vermont Mobile Spirits serving beer and wine. This growing season started in May with a burst of energy and enthusiasm. Twelve students and five adults volunteered in the garden during Thetford Academy's annual Operation Day's Work. The team spread a mountain of finished school compost, shaped raised beds, mulched pathways, watered onions with stinky fish fertilizer, planted sunflowers, and more. Thetford Academy was proud to celebrate the achievements of the exceptional Class of 2026 at the school’s 207th commencement on Friday. With soaring temperatures and the threat of thunder, the ceremony was held in the Vaughan Alumni Gymnasium. It was standing room only, with families and friends of the graduates filling the spacious gym with not only their presence, but their pride.
