The varsity boys opened their season with a four-game winning streak - two of them shutouts - and are showing no signs of slowing down. With what the Journal Opinion called the Panthers’ “high-powered offense” (great photos in last week’s edition) and sophomore Matthew McGovern guarding the net, the boys have been scoring well - and not letting much through. Next up, the Panthers travel to Hazen, then take on Lake Region at home this Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Learn who’s on the team- and follow the Panthers on Scorebook Live for game schedule and scores.  On the girls side, the...

The event, founded by TA parent and former board member Dan Grossman, is well known for many things: great music, great food (shout out to the Thetford Academy Alumni Association), great energy, and great people. Students and teachers have been out...

The Panther harriers kicked off their season last Tuesday with a meet at Bellows Falls. Coaches Deffner and Silver were delighted to see 10 runners for the girls team toe the starting line and to see those same ten girls finish a rather challenging course. Having 12 girls on the team (two did not race) was particularly exciting, given the fact that in May, the team only had 3 confirmed runners. But Coach Silver presented an energetic and enticing video at a spring assembly, and Coach Deffner interviewed graduating members of the team about what the sport has meant to...
