Guest post from TA robotics coach Leif LaWhite The NH/VT 2024 VEX robotics state championship tournament is in the books. And once again, tiny TA wrote the book.  The meet was held at Manchester Community College, an hour an a half from TA, so it was another 6:30 a.m. departure for our roboteurs and their family fan club. There were 40 robots representing 12 schools (some 10 times our size) competing.   The event began with a series of eighty 2-minute qualifying matches where robots were randomly chosen to ally-with and go-against others in the main 2V2 event. Our own 4886S (Aden Perry, Connor Kutter-Walker and Duncan...

Guest post from TA Alpine Ski Coach Paul DixonThe Thetford Academy Alpine team is heading into the end of the season and hitting their stride after a delayed start to the season. We are seeing so many breakout performances from athletes across both the Ladies and Men's teams. Many are seeing this reflected in the race results and having their best finishes ever. Dear TA Families, I attended the college information session for juniors and their families on Monday night and wanted to share some takeaways. The event, hosted by the TA Counseling Department, featured admissions officers from six regional colleges and offered important information and insights that any parent of a student in secondary school might find useful - even if just to contemplate for the future. That darned stomach bug is back :( Illnesses - A stomach bug, causing much vomiting, has arrived at TA, the elementary school is also affected. If you want to keep your tummy happy; please don't share water bottles or food. - We still have several students out with influenza symptoms. Symptoms are headache, sore throat nausea, body aches and fever. If your child has a temperature over 100.0 they need to stay home, please. The Panthers celebrate graduating senior Mitchell Parkman at Senior Night this week. Thetford Academy's varsity boys played their last home game of the regular season on Wednesday night. Before the game, the Panthers celebrated their lone senior Mitchell Parkman, who has been an important part of the team's successful season. The boys' 73-39 win vs. U-32 adds to their season record of 17-2 - and keeps their top seeded placement in Division III.
