It was a great Homecoming for the Panthers on Saturday - both the boys and girls varsity soccer teams defeated Lyndon Institute and added a "W" to their season record. The girls took the field at 11:00 a.m. on TA's, up two at the half and finishing it off in the second to take LI 5-1. The boys followed suit, shutting out Lyndon 5-0. On Wednesday, the Panther boys took a loss v. Hazen (home) and now stand at 4-1. The girls travel to Lake Region on Thursday, followed by the boys on Saturday. Next week, both teams take...

On Tuesday, September 19, Thetford Academy's Counseling Office hosted a virtual college information session for current seniors and their families. The one-hour workshop, led by director of counseling Mark Pichette, provided an overview of the college application process and offered families tips and resources to help along the way. Dear TA Families, Today was a special day for our new high schoolers - the Class of 2027 - as they all participated in our annual 9th grade retreat. Fortunately, it was a beautiful autumn day (no rain!). Students spent the day outdoors on the TA south campus connecting as a class in a variety of team building activities, facilitated by their advisors, counselors, and a cadre of 12th grade peer leaders. Mountain DayTA students and teachers are looking for forward to a fun day of hiking. It is good for student's mental and physical health to be outside and be active. If your child has a medical condition such as: asthma or a food or bee sting allergy or a seizure condition - parents are responsible for sending the emergency medication with their child on Mountain Day. Thetford Academy was recently awarded an $18,000 Cultural Facilities Grant from the Vermont Arts Council to complete much-needed technology upgrades in the Martha Jane Rich Theater. The MJR Theater, constructed in 2009 as part of TA's last capital campaign, is a high-quality, generously-sized performance space and a point of pride for the school's thriving theater and music programs. However, the theater's dated and often unreliable lighting, sound, and projection technology are a stumbling block for both student and community users.
