On Thursday, January 19, 2023, the Counseling Office presented an introduction to the college process for Thetford Academy juniors and their families. The event, led by Counseling Director Mark Pichette, provided an overview of the college application process and offered resources and tips for students and families starting to think about their college options. Thetford Academy's birthday is coming up and we're getting ready to celebrate! Founders' Day this year will be held on February 3, 2023, with the theme of "TA Departments" - we can only imagine what our students will come up with, but we know it's going to be great. Each year at TA, students are given the opportunity to tackle a project in an area of personal interest through the TA Challenge Course program. The topics for these courses are as unique as TA students themselves, and have ranged from equestrian training to aviation, climate change to gender studies. On January 10, 2023, two students took the opportunity to present their fall semester Challenge Courses to the members of the Counseling Department, detailing their topic of interest, explaining their research and learning, and showcasing their final projects. On Tuesday, we will begin our third quarter of the school year and a new semester. High schoolers will have an entirely new schedule of classes. Middle schoolers will maintain the same schedule and teachers for most of their day, with just a rotation in their afternoon arts/tech electives.
