The Strafford and Thetford Energy Committees are collaborating with WindowDressers (WD), a nonprofit organization, to make 300 custom-built, interior storm window inserts for Strafford and Thetford residents. In Thetford, the group is also working with Thetford Elementary School to make 125 insulating window inserts for the school, with the goal of to reducing TES's energy use, making the school more comfortable, and saving on school energy costs. Over the years, the International Student Program (ISP) at Thetford Academy has welcomed students from around the world. Local residents have opened their homes and hearts to them, and have made wonderful memories to last a lifetime.This fall, we will enroll students from China, Haiti, and Korea, and we are once again seeking families to continue the hosting tradition. Hosts can welcome a student for a night/weekend; a semester; or an entire school year (10 months). This month, with generous support from the Freeman Foundation, Thetford Academy launched a new program focusing on outdoor and project-based learning. The "TA Summer Challenge" builds on the success of the Thetford Outdoor Program's summer wilderness trips, adding new opportunities for students to engage with peers, enhance leadership skills, and challenge themselves through academic, outdoor, and artistic projects. Congratulations to Dean of Students Siobhan Lopez for being the recipient of the Peters Family Employee of the Year Award for 2021. This special recognition goes to a TA employee each year who has demonstrated deep dedication to Thetford Academy and has gone beyond the call of duty to nurture, support, and inspire students and the school community. On Saturday, July 3, TA was excited to host the Class of 2001 for their 20th Thetford Academy Reunion.
