Dear TA Families, Last week I featured students taking their learning onto the stage, over the airwaves, and into the woods in the 'student learning spotlights' section of my weekly email. Today I want to share more examples of TA classes and clubs testing their knowledge and skills in real world settings during the culminating weeks of the semester. The Panthers have been preparing for their winter season openings, with alpine skiing, basketball, and indoor track athletes practicing and conditioning in advance of their first contests. Basketball was the first to compete with home games for both the boys and girls varsity and JV teams. On Tuesday, the JV and Varsity girls faced Williamstown and walked away with their first W's - the varsity team handily taking down Williamstown 60-35. Guest post from TA Robotics Coach Leif LaWhite. On Saturday the TA's robotics team 4886 took four robots to their second meet of the year, this time closer to home in Plymouth, NH. This was a large meet, with 47 robots from all over NH and VT, and again, 4886 did not disappoint.   Each robot competed in six two-minute qualification matches, and at the end of that series, TA's 4886S (Aden Perry, Connor Kutter-Walker, and Duncan MacPhee) were ranked first.  4886W (Jesse Martin, Kai Slayton and Tanner Hardy) were the 9th seed while, due to a series of of hard knocks, 4886Y...


Dear TA Families, Re-Cap: Half-Day on Friday As I shared with students yesterday, we designed the December half day to pause our daily routines and create time for a range of 'big picture' activities, together as a school community - in our small group advisories, as a whole school of 300+, and with our grade-level classmates.  Have a good upcoming weekend! Illnesses We have more cases of strep throat - please notify Ellen if your child has strep throat. If your child has strep, they must be on antibiotics for 24 hours before returning to school. We have a few cases of influenza, with fever. If your child has a temperature over 100.0 please remember they need to stay home and need be fever free for hours (without Tylenol or ibuprofen) before returning to school.
