The Vermont Academy of Science and Engineering (VASE) recently named TA faculty Derek Burkins the 2021 STEM Teacher of the Year for grades 9-12. On September 22, Burkins will be honored at VASE's annual meeting on the Middlebury College campus and share remarks about his career path and teaching philosophy. The annual event is headlined this year by educator, activist, and environmentalist Bill McKibben, who will deliver the keynote address on the topic of climate change and global warming. Dear TA Families, It's a busy weekend of TA events! Tonight we bring back the TA tradition of a fall welcome dance hosted by the senior class. This is an exciting 'first' after 18 months or more of no dances (except the senior prom last May). The Class of 2022 has organized a fun event for all students, grades 7-12, with a 'dino dance' theme. The event is casual, outdoors, and takes place from 7:30-9:30pm. Tickets are $7 and food will be for sale; all proceeds go to support the Project Senior fundraising this year. Tomorrow we host TA Homecoming with varsity soccer games...

Hello from  the Thetford Academy Counseling Department! The International Student Program at TA is excited to welcome five students to campus this year, two returning and three new to TA. Seung Gyu (Alex) Kim, a senior from Seoul, Korea, returns for his 4th year at TA. Shisi (Cissy) Dai, a junior from Beijing, China begins her third year with TA. In addition, Thetford Academy has partnered with AFS to enroll two students from Italy, Maria Rossi and Alessandro Monticchio, who join our junior class for a one-year study abroad experience. And finally, we welcome Gonzalo de Cavajal Cebrian from Madrid, Spain. He joins the Class of '23...
