It’s time to start planning ahead for next school year! The Counseling Department has begun hosting sessions for each of the grades to guide students through the planning process and provide instruction on the high school course registration steps. We invite parents and caregivers to be a part of this process with their student. Below are more details and resources – most of which will be shared via our student and parent email lists. Course registration is an opportunity for students and families to reflect on academic goals, post-secondary plans, possible pathways through high school, and how the opportunities at TA...

The Boston Red Sox recently recognized retired TA educator, Ted Peters '63, as Most Valuable Educator for the month of April. The recognition, held in a pregame ceremony at Fenway Park, was organized by Ted's daughter Mary Lou Jones to coincide with his 80th birthday. In her nomination, which was read on the field, Mary Lou wrote: "Ted Peters has lived all of his life so far in Thetford, VT and graduated from Thetford Academy in 1963. He began his career as a Physical Education and Health educator at Thetford Academy in 1967 after graduating from Springfield College." She shared that...

Nine Thetford Academy choral students were among 135 musicians from across Vermont who performed last week at VTSU Castleton. TA's chorus, led by drama and choral teacher Jeff Seabaugh, performed three songs, Ella Fitzgerald's "Blue Skies," "A Light of Hope, A Song of Peace" by Mark Burrows, and "A Million Dreams" from the Greatest Showman movie soundtrack. In a "Bernie Buzz" blog post after...

Her journey, set deep in a Louisiana swamp, finds her looking for answers in dark and often dangerous places. Directed by drama teacher Jeff Seabaugh, the cast and crew of Rue spent the semester in...
